Once again, Phil Mendoza’s Alpha Bow Hunting Challenge this past weekend in New Castle, CO was a huge success.  The event was planned and executed extremely well, and Fit 4 The Hunt is proud to have been a part of it.  The Throwdown once again tested the physical prowess of the Alpha competitors, and the hunter athletes on the Western Slope came to play, taking home first place in every category.  Congratulations to Glenwood Spring’s Tara Alibrandi and Matt Cova for winning the women’s and men’s open divisions respectively. They each took home a $100 prize and earned free entry into the Alpha Bowhunting Challenge finals at No Limits Archery July 1st and 2nd.  In addition, Durango’s Jason DeWeese posted the best score in the Master’s division.

Not only did the 6 minute Throwdown challenge the competitors, the heat did as well with temperatures in the 90’s during most of the event. The competition was very tight with Tara winning by the slimmest of margins, 1 rep, over Jasmine Johnson of Grand Junction, CO.  Matt scored 3 reps better than Gabe Krell from Castle Rock, CO. Regardless of the scores, all of the competitors worked hard and embodied the philosophy that drives Fit 4 The Hunt.  We are very proud of them all.
